TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN
No Sweat works in solidarity with other campaigns around the world. As a grassroots campaign group we look at the areas we can make the most impact for our own campaigns, but it is vital that we work with other organisations to build solidarity in the fight for workers rights everywhere, and that means collaboration.
Here are some of the global campaigns that we endorse and support.
MYANMAR MILITARY: NEVER IN FASHION
The Myanmar military have killed over a thousand people and had thousands more arrested, trade unions have been declared illegal and workers’ are being handed over to the police by factory owners for protesting. International brands must support human rights and pull out of Myanmar until democracy is restored.
No Sweat is part of the Myanmar Military: Never in Fashion campaign that is supporting trade unions in Myanmar in their call for international brands to make a responsible exit from the country and support efforts to restore democracy.
JUSTICE FOR JEYASRE
The Justice for Jeyasre Campaign is a coalition of international trade unions, labor groups, and gender-justice organisations honouring the legacy of Jeyasre Kathiravel, a young Indian Dalit woman and union member who was organizing for better conditions at her workplace and was killed by her supervisor, by demanding serious long term changes including an end to gender-based violence and harassment and freedom of association in Tamil Nadu and beyond.
RANA PLAZA SOLIDARITY COLLECTIVE
The Rana Plaza Solidarity Collective is a coalition of campaign groups and activists in the UK that came together to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Rana Plaza building collapse and continue the pressure to hold brands account able for the exploitation in their supply chains.
PAY YOUR WORKERS
No Sweat is part of the #PayYourWorkers #RespectLabourRights campaign that brings together more than 200 unions and civil society groups from over 40 countries to demand brands fix their broken industry by putting the money on the table to ensure workers can feed their families and respect labour rights.
